Senior Designer

NextGen Climate is currently seeking a Senior Designer. The position requires a passion for confronting climate change, experience in print and web design, strong grasp of typography, and the ability to consistently produce beautiful, thoughtful, and innovative web, social graphics, and print design.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  “Essential functions” are primarily job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation made by the employer, under the direction of the Design Director.

  1. Collaborate with the design and development team to develop daily graphics and deliverables.
  2. Participate in brainstorming with colleagues to set creative priorities and map out strategic plans for new digital properties and print deliverables.
  3. Document planning in a variety of editorial and visual format including presentations within and PowerPoint or Keynote presentations
  4. Development of branding and identity materials as well as creative campaign development.
  5. Provide visual design support for large design projects and information design.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  1. Bachelor’s degree
  2. 2-6 years of related experience
  3. Strong knowledge of typography, branding, and logo development.
  4. Knowledge and experience integrating photography into design concepts.
  5. Ability to express abstract concepts in concrete ways
  6. Ability to create attractive, polished documents
  7. Ability to work independently to solve complicated user experience challenges
  8. Ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced, demanding environment
  9. Ability to produce quality work on a tight schedule, delivering on time and on budget
  10. Experience with all basic web standards
  11. Experience with design for digital display ad campaigns, high traffic web properties, social media platforms.
